Hertz App

Goal / Improve the app + make the experience more intuitive.

Q1 2022

Responsibilities

Design the new native app for Apple + Android devices with my focus on the following areas:

  • App loading screen

  • Booking

  • Account overview

  • App Store screenshots

Research

Before designing, we did multiple collab sessions to review our past app pain points, did competitive analyses (in and out of the rental car industry), and conducted user testing through Maze.

Interaction Planning

As screens were built out, we began planning how the screens should interact using interaction and functionality stickies. This allowed us to fully talk through each interaction to make sure it made sense before sharing out to the greater team.

Once we felt good about each interaction, we created the clickable prototype for demoing.

Handoff

Once designs were ready for development, we add our cleaned up our flows with functionality notes to a page dedicated to a dev sprint. This allowed us and the developers to stay organized and know when designs were released to dev.

Launched

Some of my launched designs have included:

  • Vehicle selection

  • Vehicle details

  • Screenshots on the App Store and Google Play Store

  • Login experience

  • Apple/Google Pay cards for loyalty members + reservations.
