Meet the Designer

I’m Marlissa and I’m the Senior Design Systems Designer at Arthrex.

I am creating an enterprise-level design system, collaborating closely with the Senior Designers to ensure all components meet their needs.

I have extensive Figma knowledge, as well as experience with Adobe Creative Suite products. I have worked in Monday.com, Jira, Wrike, and ClickUp for project management and developer communications. When approaching designs, I am very detail-oriented, prioritize Mobile-first designs, and keep ADA-compliance as a top priority.

One of my primary goals in life is to always maintain a learning posture. I try to learn something new every day to grow my own understandings and further develop my skills.

    • Owner of the Design System [Ongoing]

      • Regularly collaborate with Senior Designers for feedback on components and tokens.

      • Work directly with the UX Team Lead to check components and build out usage documentation in Webflow.

      • Working with Engineering to create the process for bringing DS components to our live experiences.

      • Actively part of the planning for scaling the DS to more products and teams.

      1. Designed their first DS, organized and distributed to vendors.

      2. Continually update to reflect changes.

      3. Built using variables to define colors, type, breakpoints, component scaling, spacing, and more.

    • Rebrand [Q4 ‘24 - Q3 ‘25]

      • Work with vendors on new designs.

      • Translate passed off designs to the Design System.

      • Build pages outside of vendor scope.

      • Work with Devs to ensure they have what they need.
